Position Summary:

The Paralegal Department at Bramson ORT College welcomes applications for adjunct instructor positions in Business Law, Real Estate Law, and Law Office Management for the Fall Semester 2015. These face-to-face classes may be located in Queens and Brooklyn. Courses are held in the morning and afternoon. Applicants who are qualified to teach in one or more of the following courses are encouraged to apply for:

  • Business Law
  • Real Estate Law
  • Law Office Management

  • Principal Responsibilities:

  • A Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited institution;
  • Experience teaching in higher education;
  • Experience with working with paralegals or as a paralegal

  • Qualifications:

  • Required Associate Degree, preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaches material from the Paralegal Department approved curriculum ;
  • Develops daily lesson plans to include instructional aids;
  • Participates in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc. ;
  • Motivates students by actively participating in all aspects of the academic educational process;
  • Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with the College's standards.
  • Maintains expertise in subject area and recommends improvements in curriculum design ;
  • When possible, participates in core course academic support programs, certification program and student professional associations.
  • Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching;
  • Commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process;
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed;
  • Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students; 
  • Development and revision of courses and instructional materials as necessary; 
  • A demonstrated commitment in participating in professional growth activities that improve teaching effectiveness and working effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
